We had a small class this week, but look at the beautiful washcloths the women made to donate back to The Gathering Place!!
The beautiful washcloth was knit by Gloria, who then crocheted the border in the contrasting blue.
This pretty blue washcloth was made by Darlene. Such nice even stitches.
These two beautiful washcloths were made by Melinda. The larger blue one was crocheted.
Finally this set of washcloths were made by Kathy. She used two different strands of yarn on these to achieve these beautiful, colorful results.
Happy Knitting!

This hat with the double pom pom was made by Elizabeth. It was purled all the way around, great practice of a new skill for her. And the best part is that it looks great on!!
These washcloths were made and donated back to TGP by Hilda. She doubled her yarn with larger needles to make knitting comfortable with her hands. Then she worked with adding new colors, so each is different.
This is a neck warmer made by Ponsi. It will have a button on it and fit snuggly around the neck for an added layer of warmth.
Happy KNitting!!

There has been lots of great knitting going on at The Gathering Place!
The first photo is Kathy modeling a scarf that she made out of a black sparkle yarn. It looks beautiful and I am sure it is warm as well!!
This beautiful blue and white washcloth was made my Melinda in crochet for donation as well!
This child's hat was made by Darlene. It was knit flat then seamed at the end. She practiced her colorwork on it. I am sure that it will be enjoyed - it is made of very soft cotton.
The red hat was made by Elizabeth. This is knit flat then seamed and pulled together at the top with a tie. It fit beautifully!!

This washcloth was donated by Melinda. It is hard to see in the photo, but there is a purled flower in the center of the washcloth. I believe that this is the seventh in a series of washclothes with photos that Melinda has been knitting! Beautiful!

There were a lot of beautiful finished objects at knitting this week and we donated our second round of washclothes to the shower room!! We are up to 16 wash cloths made by the women in knitting class to be donated!!
The first wash cloth here is from Liz, for a donation. Then we have the red hat that she made as a Christmas gift.
The multi colored wash cloth was made by Kathy for donation. We had fun looking at this and comparing it with her first wash cloth, so much improvement!
The bag was knit by Darleen. She had some help with the felting and the finishing. It turned out so pretty and she was really excited to get to use it!
The bottom two wash cloths were made by Hilda for donation. She doubled the thin cotton yarn to make it easier to see. The result is the beautiful pink and brown color combination!
There will be more beautiful objects and progress next week, I am sure. It is so great to
see how much the skills of everyone attending
class are improving! And we had 5 new knitters this week!

There has been a lot of great knitting going on.
This hat with the beautiful self striping yarn was made by Darlene, her first project in the round.
There are several beautiful scarves completed by Angie. The first one she even frogged and re-knit to make it the length that she desired. Most of these scarves, she gives away.
The two color scarf at the bottom was made by Liz. It matches a hat that she is making!
So much great progress!

More of a good thing...
There were a bunch of finished objects this week!!
Starting with a blue washcloth that Melinda is donating back to The Gathering Place. A great example of the washcloth we are all starting with.
This is the scarf that Bernadette knit then crochet the black edging onto. Its pretty, sparkly and soft!
This is the washcloth that Bernadette donated to The Gathering Place. This is her first project that involved purling. She crochet the edge onto the washcloth for a pretty finished look.
Great job ladies!!

This is Darlene's bag that she has been working on for the last three weeks. It will be felted, the strap cut into two pieces, and assembled in the coming weeks.

This is Liz's second hat in the same twisted rib pattern. While the pattern is free form, the knitting is improving each time, as is the finishing! Now she is working on a scarf to match.

Progress...
Lots of exciting progress today!
First we have a photo of wash cloths started by Melinda, Rose, Tyra, Debi, Sylvia, and Cathy. Everyone is doing such a great job.
The finished washcloth is from Kathy. This is her first knitting project. She learned to knit last week, this week she learned to bind off - and she started the October washcloth!
Finally, we have Elizabeth's hat. We were working on a k2, p2 rib, which got twisted, but really looks great and fits her head very well! A new hat was cast on before the end of class. Elizabeth learned knitting in the round, purling, k2tog, p2tog with this project. That's a lot of new knitting skills!
